wheres the video of the japanese man making a spam sandwich. thats the only good content on earth
“PORK AND BEANS!”
[quietly] ”Pork and beans.”
VERY IMPORTANT ADDITION BECAUSE THIS MAN IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE PEOPLE!!!!!!!
his name is tsuda daisuke and his youtube channel is JETDAISUKE! he mostly does tech reviews these days but i seriously recommend some of his vlogs because he’s pretty entertaining and puts english closed captions on lots of his stuff
but here’s where it gets interesting
y’all remember death note?
Y’ALL REMEMBER THIS OPENING???
it’s a song called “what’s up people” by the band MAXIMUM THE HORMONE, and if you’ve ever given the official music video a look, you’ll immediately notice one of the guitarists is a kind of wild looking dude making demon faces.
this is a still image of the band; he’s the one on the left with the long hair and black shirt, pulling another great face.
that man?
is tsuda daisuke.
in other words, the sand de panda open sandwich guy is also a guitarist for a kickass japanese metalcore band who contributed one of the sickest anime openings of all time to one of the greatest animes of all time. and imo maximum the hormone has some pretty fuckin awesome music in general, i reccommend their buiikikaesu album if you like what’s up people; it has that song on it and many others that i personally enjoy. (just be warned that their music videos and lyrical content is very often NSFW in nature!)
but if nu metal isn’t really your jam and you just like the sand de panda video, please at least watch the video where he makes rice with entirely too many hot peppers and gets some up his nose by accident. it’s great. it’s maybe not as meme-able as the sand de panda video, but it’s pretty funny
Sad update everyone, Tama recently passed away… An estimated 3,000 people, including railway officials, attended Tama the cat’s funeral on Sunday, days after she died of heart failure aged 16. [x]
For those who haven’t read articles about it, the local shrine elevated her to a god. She’s now the Eternal Stationmaster and patron god of the station.
Beautiful.
Now I’m crying thanks
and a new cat was hired right?
yep! her name is Nitama (essentially ”second tama” or “tama II”) and she served under Tama as an apprentice before being appointed her deputy
she works very hard
Everytime this crosses my dash, I reblog. It is the law.
Law
I’m crying at 11pm over train cats
Nitama, already now a mature cat (born 2010), has a protege named Yontama (fourth Tama, b. 2016). There is no information available for either the physical befellment or tragic self-disgrace which has removed Santama from contention.
^Nitama majestic, and below with Yontama
Yontama.
a legacy
I’d just like to add that there is a ‘Santama’, whose name was ‘SUNtamatama’ (the capitalisation is not my own, it’s in the actual name). They were sent to Okayama prefecture for station-master training. The Okayama PR rep Mister/Ms Y, who was looking after SUNtamatama then refused to let go of the cat, saying something along the lines of, “This child is ours and I will not let them go, they will stay in Okayama”, and so SUNtamatama remained in Okayama.
Orphaned baby bats are often swaddled tightly like teeny burritos to mimic being cuddled by mom and help ease separation anxiety.
They also seem to find pacifiers soothing.
I’m pretty sure I’ve posted on this before, but there’s always someone who hasn’t heard about this before. Plus, I’ll happily take any excuse I can to post cute baby animal pics (especially when they’re wrapped like tiny furry burritos) :)
